Capturing the fullness of our Greece trip was necessary for me; for the longest I denied accepting me. For various reasons, I did not feel worthy of the love that surrounded me. So I decided to do what I have never done before, set up a photo shoot! Scheduling a photoshoot to parade our beauty was beyond what I imaged our photoshoot to become. As we walked through Old Port in our rainbow colored dress – red, yellow, orange, pink, purple, and green – all eyes were fixated on our group of lovely ladies. (See the following reel and watch us strut along the shore. I love how the radiant colors complement each one of us.)
People enjoying their lunch, stopped and bantered amongst themselves as we walked by. A few people approached the group to express how gorgeous we all were. One gentleman even stopped and bestowed a charming innocent kiss on the back of someone’s hand. He was truly swept away by their beauty. (As he should have been!) Thankfully, they didn’t witness the behind the scenes. The cobble streets were easy for a few of us to walk on. As for me and my house, I made sure I brought some flats to balance the demand of the platform gold heels I decided to wear. Eventually, we – those of us who were interchanging shoes – had a routine in place. With each stop we took to take photos, the person wearing there shoes took their photos first. By the time that person finished, whomever was ready would go next. We even helped one another buckle straps, adjust hair, pose, and shield the wind.
To think this day could get any better, we dined at La Cantine du Faubourg. Located on Ornos Beach, the outdoor restaurant was nestled onside of a beautiful hill that overlooked the Ornos Bay. Upon arrival, we were adorned by the four key principles the restaurant stands on – sound, music, image, and food. The open air, vibrant music, and warm smiles ushered us into a state of arrival. For we were all our ancestor’s wildest dreams. In that moment, I confirmed my self worth and trajectory of my life. (See the follow Instagram reel, which gives you insight into our dinner at La Cantine du Faubourg.)
In closing, I must admit that I look forward to sharing the experience at had this entire day with my family. From us coordinating our attire, arranging a photographer to capture us, and chatting the night away as we were served by kind beings. When I returned home, all I wanted to do was to call my grandparents and tell them about what I’d just experienced. I live to honor those small town folks. With very little formal education and earthy possessions, they poured all of their best into me. With every night cap, I thank them eternally for positioning me to have a moment of rest. I love you!
