As holiday season – Christmas and the New Year – comes to a close and most have returned home from visiting with family, friends, and love ones, I want to take a moment to continue sharing about my Greece trip. And to top this post off, I want to specifically talk about shopping in Mykonos. Shall we…

If she desires, every lady or gentleman should shop through the winding narrow whitewashed streets of Mykonos at least once…twice…or…how ever many times their heart desires! No one should be counting but God. All honesty aside, getting lost throughout the Mykonos streets is my primary reason to visit again.

Above are two images of the Mykonos island. Chora, the image to the left displays attractions, shops, and restaurants in Mykonos town. The image to the right provides information about all of the island’s beaches. Per this map, the party beaches (less windy) are Parange, Paradise, and Super Paradise; the family beaches (less windy) are Agios Ioannis, Ornos Bay, Psarou, and Platys Gialos; and the large and quite beaches are Agrari, Elia, Kalo Livadi, and Kalafatis. There’s even a nudist beach, but no buses run there and it’s a natural beach.

After settling into our rooms at the Dorian hotel, which was located in Ornas, we eventually decided to explore downtown via the public bus. It was indeed an adventure, because we walked up a hill with our shoulders against a wall. There weren’t any sidewalks just faith in each other! But we made it to our destination – the Fabrica Bus Terminal – in Mykonos Town. And we roamed! Walking, dancing, and eventually stopping because traffic was held up. On some streets, the path would be so narrow and crowded that we’d have to let the other side pass. The boutique shops were breathtakingly gorgeous and well lite to make sure you see what’s inside. Yes, there were several times I had to walk inside a store. All of us had that moment of, “wait…hold on, let me see what they have!” or “oh…my…this is soooo pretty!”

While I know the island is known for their nightlife, I really enjoyed walking around and exploring at night. The first night we went downtown, after eating, we walked into an outside club scene. There were performers dancing in the windows of the establishment. The music was enticing even to us. While the ladies enjoyed, I walked across the street at an art exhibit and spoke with the artist for a spell. This is the same night I stumbled upon a patched work jean jacket that I’m steal waiting to recreate. To top it all off, I had a chilly serving of gelato. For whatever reason, gelato is so delicious abroad.

In closing, I enjoyed exploring Mykonos so much at night that when the chance came to explore the island first thing in the morning, I jumped at the opportunity. A huge part of me wish I knew of an island near the States that has the same feeling – electric, chic, crisp, and breezy. But in order to get the Grecian feel, one must be among the Greeks. Well we know what that means, I’ll just have to go back!

You’re so descriptive, I can live the moments through your words. It’s sounds so refreshing there.
